I'm Late, I'm Late, For A Very Important Date! or 2!!

So as I said in my last post it was going to be extremely long if I put 3 weeks worth of writing into one post therefore I decided to split the post into two part. In this part of the post I will talk about what happened whilst I was at home

Now that I was back home it was Saturday and I had to be up early to start my new job. Once sorted and dressed I made my way to my new place of work. As I work in the restaurant section of a garden centre and we do breakfast and tea with Santa to say the days leading up to Christmas we're hectic doesn't even cover it... We were rushing around like the little squirrel in hoodwink on coffee (if you haven't seen hoodwinked youtube the squirrel and you will see what I mean). As I said we did breakfast and tea with Santa so on the previous night half the restaurant was set up ready with a red table cloth on each table, a place mat for the children which they could colour in, crayons, and of course cutlery. On the morning some of us had to dress up as elves and act like Santa's helpers; we had to show families to their designated tables and serve them tea and coffee and juice for the children, we then served them their breakfast or dinner and then once all the families had eaten Santa would appear. To see the children's reaction when they saw Santa was lovely because you could see the joy and excitement in their tiny faces just made Christmas all that magical again. After we had tidied up from the breakfast it was like 12/half 12 and it was time to set up for tea with Santa meaning we had to do it all again. Then at the end of the day we would set up for the next morning.

After I finished work I met up with all my friend at a friend's (Abby) house and we exchanged Christmas presents. As it had been about 3 months since I had seen them all, we all stayed over and had a Christmassy night where we watched Christmas films, had a little drink (I was driving to work the next day so I didn't, plus I don't like to drink) and basically had a laugh which often happens when my friend and I are placed in the same room as one and other.

Now even at 19 I love Christmas, I love spending time with my family, with friend, I love being able to wrap up warm in bed socks, dressing gowns and curl up in bed or on the settee with a nice hot chocolate and a good Christmas film. Even though I'm the oldest out my brother and me I'm still the first one awake. Every year I'm usually awake somewhere between half 4 and half 5 but because I know for a fact that if I woke my parents up at that time I would be told to go back to bed (as I was told when I was younger) so I waited until 6 before going to wake my brother up and he told me to go back to bed... so I did, unhappy about it but I went back to bed. When I checked my phone I had a text of my mum to see if I was up and if my brother was, when I told her he had said for me to go back to bed my mum said to wake him up again so I did!! This time he finally got up... unhappily like but he woke up. Now my routine for the day was: wake up; wait until my parents have gone downstairs first; go downstairs; open presents; have breakfast; get dressed; grandparents came round; opened presents; My dad, granddad and brother go to the pub whilst my mum, me and my gran sort Christmas dinner; have Christmas dinner; sit around as a family for a while and watch whatever is on the telly; grandparents go home and my mum, dad, brother and me disappear to do our own thing; I then watch doctor who and that is it, the end of my Christmas day. However this year was a little different because after doctor who I was invited to Abby's boyfriend's house with her to play board games as it is a tradition for his family so after getting dressed again, I collected Abby from her grandparent's house as she was en route and we made our way to her boyfriend's house where we played board games until like 3 in the morning, which was made even funnier when we played a game where you had to draw or write something and Abby had to take her contacts out as she had, had them in too long but didn't have her glasses with her.

The days between Christmas and New Years where nothing special, I spent time with family and worked and that was about it.

As I had worked Christmas Eve, I was off New Years Eve so I spend the day with my Aunty and 6 year old Cousin on the morning and we took her to the cinema to see "Tinkerbell and the Never Beast" it was such a cute film; it made me want to watch the other Tinkerbell films (I think I will after posting this blog). Anyway it was so nice to take my cousin to see the film as she loved the whole thing, I wont spoil the ending for any of you who want to see it but it brought a tear to my eyes and my cousin turned round and said to my Aunty "I thought you said it was a happy ending!". On New Year Eve night, my friends and I attended a friend's house party, where we rung the New Years in at midnight like everyone else. Now I know some people have different traditions when it comes to New Years Eve/New Years. For instance I know Abby's tradition is that the males go outside and the women stay inside whereas for me every time I have celebrated New Years I have been around family friend's and because they have 2 young children, we all go outside at about 20 seconds to midnight, countdown and then watch the fireworks with are set off by neighbouring people and we sometimes set off floating lanterns. Whilst at the house party we followed the tradition of our friend which was everyone stood outside at 5 minutes to midnight and then we counted down from 30 until midnight where everyone cheered and we set off party poppers. There are parts of New Years which I may share with you in time but for the moment they are my own special moments which I got to share with people that I love :)

Anyway that is the end of my holiday catch up, seeing how its a long post and my head it starting to hurt from looking at the computer screen without my glasses on I won't leave you with a quote this time, I promise I will catch up with posting and try to be more regular. I can't promise you a post every week but I will try and keep you updated on things in my every day-to-day life :)

Until Next Time

I'm Driving Home For Christmas!!

Hello my lovely bloggers, I am so sorry for the fact it has been over 2 months since my last post, I just lost track of things! First of all I want to wish you all Happy Holidays and then I want to wish you all a Happy New Year. The lyrics in my last post are from the Christmas song "Mistletoe and Wine" by Cliff Richards. Now this is most likely going to be a long blog as it will basically cover everything over my Christmas break, I will try and keep it as brief as possible however you don't have to read it all or any of it if you like,

So a lot has happened since the last time I blogged, I went home for the holidays, I started my new job, I got to see Russell Howard live at the echo arena in Liverpool, I spent time with friend and family whilst at home and I come back to university for my 2nd term/semester.

So I think we will start off with Russell Howard. Whilst in my first year my friend and I found out that Russell was doing another tour and that he would be in Liverpool on 17th December 2014 and as we both love him we said that we should go when we can afford to book tickets. So when we started back in September and got out student loans in we waited until we paid the rent for our accommodation to see what we were left with and then we booked the tickets! The tickets arrived a week before the show and it was so exciting, it was the first time I had seen a comedian live. When the day of the show arrive, I was so excited and the whole show was just brilliant. He basically took the mick out of Liverpool and told stories of how he has made a fool out of himself and for anyone who loves Russell Howard we know how often that is! :)

It finally got to Thursday of that week and I was due to go home on the Friday however I had a list as long as my arm of things to do within that one night, I still had to pack all my clothes, teddies, laptop, I had to complete the online training I needed to do for work, I had to finish wrapping presents as well as tidy my room, change my bedding, shower and to wash up any pots which were in my room (mostly cups and glasses from drinks). To say I was running round like a headless chicken would be an understatement; once I finally finished everything I got to sleep at about half 3/4am and had to be up at half 8 for class at 10am.

Finally it got to Friday and it was home time!!! My grandparents picked me up at uni once #i had finished my classes and we made our way back to the house so that we could collect my things and make the journey back home. Once everything was loaded into the car, we set off on the 2 and a half hour drive back home and by about 8pm I was back in Middlesbrough and my Christmas could finally start!!

So seeing how this was going to be an extremely long post I thought it would be better to split it into two parts soo this part is what I did in the few days before going back home and then next post will be about what I did when I was at home.
