The Clock Strikes Twelve...

Hello again so the quote is from the Red Dwarf episode Quarantine... Now it might be a little old for some of you but it's one of my favourite TV series... An oldie but a classic nevertheless and a quote was bounded to show up sooner or late and another one may appear later on.

Now I hadn't actually planned to post tonight but seeing how last night was the season 8 premier for doctor who I felt as a whovian I should probably do something.

Now I'm not going to do a full review on the episode as that's not what I'm here to do but I do have a few thoughts here and there which I need to voice.

Starting with the opening sequence... In short I don't like it. Simple as that I really really hate it and I don't plan or warming up to it any time soon. To me it doesn't feel right.

Now Clara. I liked her in the last season and I like her in this one to! (I know it's only started but if she continues this way then I think she will be one of the best companions the doctor has had) I like how she was shown to be able to handle herself but then still have trust in the doctor to save her. Along side Amy she is one of my favourite companions.

The return of the Pasternoster Gang! I was happy to see the lizard from the dawn of time, her Victorian wife and a fighting potato! These 3 would make a marvellous spin off. Strax never fails to make me laugh... He just can't let old habits go.

I like the continuity of the episode. Especially the reference to 'The Girl in The Fireplace' it was nice to see that the doctor has memories (even if he has trouble placing it) to his life as the tenth doctor. And the repetition of lines such as "you've redecorated. I don't like it" this mirrors the line from the 50th anniversary episode and other previous episodes. As well as the doctor miscalculating Clara home, similar to how he did when he drop Sarah-Jane Smith off at 'home'.

Now we get to Peter Capaldi... I was very VERY dubious of welcoming him as the doctor for the reason that Matt Smith will always be the doctor who stole my heart but I must say I didn't expect to warm to him so quickly. I expected for it to take a few episodes before I began to like him but I can say that within 75 minutes he has gained my trust. Is anyone else thinking "shush" will be his catchphrase? Because I can see it. Also his accent... I could get use to listening to him talk simply because of his accent. However to see him abandon Clara like that broke my heart. I never thought I would see the doctor do that to anyone.

Now the ending confused me... 10 years of watching doctor who and not once have I been as confused by an ending as I was last night... Who is this Missy person and why is she calling the doctor her boyfriend? What happened to River?

I think that is about everything. If you have any thoughts about the episode or if you agree with anything feel free to comment :)

Now here's the quote you know what to do... "Oh, the pointing again! They're screwdrivers! What are you going to do? Assemble a cabinet at them?"

Please Turn Around When Possible

Hey guys! The quote from the last post was from... Veronica Mars The Movie... So if that's what you said well done!!

So it's been a while since I last put a post up but it's been a busy week... My parents went away without me and my flat mate from uni stayed with me until they came back. Myself and 3 friends also went to a theme park near me... Well I say near it was an hours drive away. It appears my sat nav has the same direction abilities that I do... One minute it's tell me to turn left and when I do it starts telling me to turn around when possible.

I decided to name my sat nav Simone.... So instead of Simon says it's Simone says... Anyway before I start cracking anymore bad puns or play on words I'll leave you with one more... 'What do you call a sleep walking nun.... A roamin' catholic'... Ehh... Ehh... Anyone... Anyone... No?... No?... Okayyy Moving on...

So back to the theme park... We had fun, went on rides, screamed our heads off, went on rides which we're terrifying and screamed more that the little children! However we did hear a fully grown man shout "I'm going to die"

I'll tell you one thing though I will never go on a ride that goes upside down again... We went on a ride called 'the black pearl' which was like the pirate ships that swing back and forth except instead of stopping it carried on swinging to the point were you were upside down... YOU WERE SECURELY FASTENED IN!! I will state that before you think "Christ what rides does this mad woman go on!" We had a bar pressing into our bladders and metal wiring stuff above you so incase something went drastically wrong we were still within the ship!

Another ride we went on was a roller coaster called 'the Ultimate' and to be honest it wasn't that bad... However I did keep my hands securely on the bar! We also when on this roller coaster which was set out as an underground mine after a dinosaur attack so it was pitch black and every so often a dinosaur would be lit up and there was a massive drop too... Once the guy was finished giving the whole 'keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times...' And started the ride my friend looked at him and said 'bye' as we began to move... Not sure why but she did.

Like any teenager we took a load of photos and bought some which were taken on the rides but as you know they always take the photo when you are in the middle of screaming or pulling some sort of funny face.

So I think we'll leave this post there before I begin babbling away. Now as I said last time I was going to end my posts with a quote and I would tell you in the next post as to where the quote is from... Soo here is the quote ...

"So let me get this straight: you want to fly on a magic carpet, to see the king of the potato people, and plead with him for your freedom... and you're telling me you're completely sane?"

A few of my favourite things...

Hello again!

So it’s been a few days since my first blog or post, not quite sure what to call it but anyway it’s been a few days. I thought I would maybe list of few of my favourite things, like films, books, TV shows, things like that. But first I would just like to say thank you for reading my blog, even though I only have the one post so far... two now but still thank you!!

Anyway before I become too soppy I will continue with my post. First thing I will list will be my favourite books. As I said in my last post I like to read; so I guess it's a good place to start. So here is a list of my favourite books and book series.

  • Forget Me Not by Anne Cassidy (this has to be one of my all-time favourite books to read)
  • The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling
  • The Divergent series by Veronica Ruth
  • The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter
  • The Heist Society series also by Ally Carter
  • The Pretty Little Liars Series by Sarah Shepard
  • The Lying Game Series also by Sara Shepard
  • Children of the Red King series by Jenny Nimmo
  • The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
  • Wings series by Aprilynne Pike
  • The Winter Trilogy by Ruth Warburton
  • Witch Finder series also by Ruth Warburton
  • Life and Laughing by Micheal Mcintyre
  • Is It Just Me by Miranda Hart
  • The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
  • The Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins
  • The Veronica Mars: Million Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas
  • Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson (I was crying with laughter at this book)
  • The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater

Didn't realise I had so many favourite books and book series. Right so next we will go onto favourite TV shows.

  • Doctor Who (yes I am a Whovian)
  • BBC's Sherlock (and a Sherlockian)
  • Supernatural (and... I don't know the name for this fandom... Hunters? maybe)
  • Charmed
  • Red Dwarf
  • Pretty Little Liars
  • Glee
  • Vampire Diaries
  • The Big Bang Theory (Bazinga!)
  • The Originals
  • They Lying Game (unfortunately this show got cancelled)
  • The Secret Circle (also got cancelled)
  • Veronica Mars (and so did this one)
  • Pushing Daisies (and this one to)
  • Kyle XY (yep, and this one)
  • Ravenswood (you guessed it, cancelled)
  • BBC's Doc Martin
  • Friends
  • Once Upon a Time (whose excited for Anna and Elsa to make an appearance?)
  • Fawlty Towers (this was before my time but still a classic)
  • Only Fools and Horse (again before my time but a classic)
  • BBC's Mock The Week
  • Scrubs
  • BBC's QI
  • BBC's Outnumbered

So most of the shows I like got cancelled and some of them ended on a cliff hanger; wasn't too pleased with that, especially when the Lying Games got cancelled half way through season 2... Anyway on to favourite films.

  • Practical Magic (this has to be one of my most favourite films)
  • The Prince and Me Quadology (These films make everything better)
  • Veronica Mars the Movie (I waited 10 years for this film!)
  • Life as We Know It (this is such a sad but cute film)
  • PS I Love You (again such a sad but cute film... plus Gerard Butler with a Irish accent...*swoon*)
  • A Far off Place
  • The Fault in Our Stars (I was not prepared for such heart break!)
  • New Years Eve
  • We Bought A Zoo
  • Lilo and Stitch (Pudge does control the weather)
  • Frozen (Do you wanna build a snowman?... Let it go)
  • Tangled (Frying pans at the ready people!)
  • The Lion King (Hakuna Matata)
  • Jumanji
  • Divergent
  • The Mortal Instruments
  • The Harry Potter Octology
  • Sherlock Holmes
  • Sherlock Homes: A Game of Shadows
  • Coyote Ugly
  • Despicable Me
  • Despicable Me 2
  • Star Trek
  • Star Trek: Into Darkness

  • Letters To Juliet
  • Alice in Wonderland (Johnny Depp... Enough said)
  • The Pirates of the Caribbean Quadology (Savvy?)
  • Ballet Shoes
  • Howl's Moving Castle
  • Ponyo (Ponyo like ham!!)
  • Avengers Assemble (puny god)
  • Iron Man Trilogy
  • Thor
  • Thor: The Dark world
  • Step Up Quadolody
  • Dear John
  • Magic Mike (Hehe)

I realise there is a lot of films there but it’s difficult to decide on my ultimate favourite film. Let’s see where should we go next? How about comedians

  • Michael McIntyre
  • Miranda Hart
  • Russell Howard
  • Danny Bhoy
  • Andy Parson
  • Hugh Dennis
  • Sarah Milligan

So that was rather a short list compared to the others but that will be the end of my favourites because if we carry on we will be here all night with list after list. Anyway if you are looking through these lists and you have a suggestion for a film or a book or a TV show or a comedian which you think I might like due to something I have listed please let me know by leaving a comment and I will get round to having a look as soon as I can. Anyway this is going to be the end of this post. I have decided on how I am going to end my posts... I'm going to put a line from a film, book or TV show and then in my next post I will say where the line is from. If you wish you can leave a comment below saying where you think it is from and we will see if you are right in the next post... a little bit like a game :)

Well... Hello

Well… Hello

Soo... I actually have no idea as to what I am doing or if I am even doing this right (this can only go so well). Ermm I should probably start by telling you a little about myself. I'm 19 years old and I’m small for my age as I am only 5ft (according to a height chart in a shop in the UK, I am the height of a 13 year old...). I can’t work technology for the life of me and I often shout at my laptop when it refuses to work. I love to read... Give me a book and I will refuse to put it down until I have finished the book or the series; I once read 12 books in 10 days whilst on holiday. I can sometimes be a typical blonde where my brain just decides to shut down for a few seconds and as a result of this I have had many "Blonde Moments" which I will no doubt put in this blog; one of my most recent ones included setting my car up ready to move, so I had my seat belt on, the car was in reverse, I'd taken my hand break off and started lifting the clutch up to reverse out of the parking space... I however hadn't actually turned the car on...

I’m currently studying Educational Studies with English Language at Liverpool Hope University where I will spend 4 years working towards being a teacher. Since starting university I have recently rediscovered my love for cheerleading and joined my university's squad... Despite all the bruises and aching muscles I look forward to my practices!

There isn't really a main reason as to why I decided to do this. There will be a bit of everything in here from me just having a random rant to me telling you about a blonde moment which I experienced. I guess we'll just have to see what's posted as we go along which will be fun as I never plan often... As my friend and I used to say "we'll take the day by socks". I misheard the saying and never knew what the correct form was but it was funny to say and it became kind of an inside joke we had which I have now let you in on :)

Ermm well that’s the end of this post... I really need to find a way to sign off
^_^
